Firstly, let us tell you what BionicGym is.  BionicGym’s founder wanted to launch its services but they needed huge funding to introduce it to the world.

BionicGym first set themselves up on the Indiegogo page. They later developed their website and set up their mailing list along with making their own Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

They made Facebook Ads as a part of their strategy, but little did they know what these ads can achieve with iConsultify on their side.

The Success Story Begins:

BionicGym first launched on Indiegogo and with an initial burst of support from friends, family, and network the campaign was generating about $2,000 per day. This is good, but still not enough to cover all the product development costs or to meet their goals.

Initially, their crowdfunding adviser and crowdfunding networks’ email shots worked well. But these attractions were not enough to build and sustain their business model in any way. Later on, they started leveraging Facebook to gain traction. The earlier thought that this is achieving great results – over 2,000,000 million reached at low cost ($ 0.004 per 3-second view) they weren’t leading to pre-orders.

The campaign bombarded loads of data from Indiegogo, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Analytics, and so on. This huge amount of data baffled them and they did not know where to focus their energy, or what exactly to do with this data.

One thing they learned from this is that the social media platform is much more powerful than they imagined and that they needed to use these platforms to achieve their goals. They also got to know that they needed an expert to help them achieve this as it is a difficult task.

After they started the campaign on their own, they saw the traction falling drastically after only four weeks into it.

The Campaign Set Up

Their video was getting consistently cheap views and so they needed help. As soon as they connected with iConsultify, their views and customer attraction rocketed up instantly. Ending up with us was BionicGym’s best ROI of the entire Indiegogo campaign.

Let’s dive deep into how we did this seemingly impossible task. We first started with the following key swifts:

  • Earlier, BionicGym was targeting ALL countries and wasn’t paying much attention to testing, optimization, or objectives. This is a huge mistake! So we moved away from their campaign targeting multiple countries to one campaign per country (in this case, the US, UK, and Singapore) and changed the campaign objective to ‘Conversions’.
  • For each ‘Country Campaign’ we split test the following:
  • Gender
  • Placement (Desktop, Mobile)
  • Creatives (18 variations – they had one video which we used with different variations of ad text, headlines, and thumbnail image)

And just in no time at all, we were split-testing 252 ads as compared to 2-5 ads they were doing earlier! At iConsultify, we also carefully optimized the ad funding based on how they were performing across various locations. We did this without pausing or adjusting the campaign manually through the ‘auto-optimization’ method!

  • Set-up a Re-Marketing Campaign (also known as a “Re-Targeting” Campaign) and split test to everyone who visited the Indiegogo page and viewed the Facebook Video Ad.
  • Started using Lookalike audiences. We also split test these to see if they were more effective than ‘Interest-based’ targeting only (answer – most definitely YES!)

With this instant success, BionicGym got the confidence to increase their daily Facebook spend from $200 per day (a USD 2,400 monthly budget) to a peak of $1,500 per day (a $45,000 monthly budget) with an average ROI of about 300%. As soon as they hit the top,

The Facebook Ads campaign was profitable, but the next step was to scale this campaign and improve it.

Country Revisions

After some time, we analyzed that the US-focused campaign was mistakenly overlapping between different target audiences. This was ultimately driving up the cost. Also, we saw many pre-orders from Singapore even though we weren’t specifically targeting that country.

So we started exclusively focusing on the stronger market areas, the US, UK, Ireland, and Singapore.

Re-Marketing Revisions

The first Re-Marketing Campaign brought out the audience pool which seemed to be the most likely to purchase.

We reduced the Custom Audience timeframe from the earlier 180 days to the new 7 days frame. After that, we employed split testing to identify the best target audience: Re-Targeting Users with Shopping Cart Abandonment or Video Views of our Ads.

What Did We Achieve With This Re-Marketing Campaign?

This new Re-Marketing campaign hit a 9 times ROI and $44 per conversion! We managed to cut down the conversion cost into half the earlier value by smartly targeting the right audience.
